Halfway between the St. Lawrence River and the New York State Thruway, Lewis County is bordered on the west by the Tug Hill Plateau and on the east by the Adirondack Mountains. It is a place where friendly, honest people go about their business with a cheerful word for the passing stranger. Lewis County still maintains the spirit of the early settlers.
