In 1986, the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox squared off in a World Series that baseball fans and purists continue to believe ranks in the all-time top 5 World Series. With the Red Sox seemingly ready to clinch the series, Mookie Wilson hit a slow roller up the first base line and the subsequent error by Bill Buckner ended up being the game winner for the Mets who would then go on to win Game 7 and the subsequent title. This play is replayed over and over again still to this day!! They are excited to say that both Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner will both be in town for their Hot Stove Dinner on February 3rd. Both Mr. Wilson and Mr. Buckner and their combined 34 years of big league experience will be on hand to talk about their careers, “the play”, and other topics as they continue their tour of the United States that has also included a spot on the popular show “Curb your Enthusiasm.” Tickets are now on sale: VIP Tickets $40.00 (Meet and Greet access) General Admission $25.00 (Doors open at 6pm) Checks are accepted made payable to Watertown Wizards Inc. The event is sponsored by the Barnes Corners Sno-Pals Inc. (BCSP) with the proceeds used to maintain and improve trails in the 103 mile trail system groomed by the club. The SNIRT RUN™ is held in early April for several reasons: Since its inception this event has grown annually to easily become the largest ATV event in New York State. The event typically attracts more than 1,500 registered riders. People come from as far away as Virginia and Ohio with many from the New England states! The SNIRT RUN™ is a joint effort between the Club, the Lewis County Legislators, several Townships and the various Law enforcement agencies. This one day event is made possible by the County and Towns by their willingness to pass resolutions enabling certain roads to be open for the day, and for that the Club, is most grateful.
